Hey there! I’m Evie. I’ve been hitting drums since the age of 3, but started getting serious about it at 7. I’m an experienced drummer and percussionist of 15 years, spending many of those years in Northeast Indiana training with various private drum instructors
During my time in Indiana, I was also trained in orchestral percussion, concert snare drum, timpani, and music theory as the acting Lead Percussion member in the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. I held this position for 4 of the 5 years I played with them.
I also spent time training at School of Rock Fort Wayne with private instructors and band rehearsal settings. I was also the acting drummer of the school’s House Band and spent time touring around the greater Fort Wayne area. During college, I also spent time as a drum instructor at the school, as well as one of their band instructors during their summer camps.
I’ve spent time with various “garage bands”, bands that made it out of the garage, and bands that made it out of town. These spanned from Alternative, Punk, Metal, and Indie. Along with playing in Indiana, I did regional touring in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Kentucky as Jonah Leatherman’s drummer.
I’m a skilled professional that specializes in rock drumming. I also teach various genres such as Jazz, Metal, Punk, Reggae, Alternative, and Indie. I also teach symphonic percussion, concert snare drum, sheet music, including beginner and intermediate music theory. Fun and accomplishment is my #1 priority, I work with my students to figure out what they’d like to accomplish in each lesson. I have a passion for teaching, my goal is to keep my lessons a safe space and to share my motivation and love I have for my craft with my students.
