Thomas Greer / Piano

Thomas Greer is a recent graduate of Florida State University's College of Music, where he received a bachelor's degree in Jazz Piano Performance.  A lifelong resident of Indialantic, Thomas has been active in the music community since he first could walk, and after picking up a variety of instruments and styles along the way, he returned to Brevard to continue fostering the environment that raised him.  Thomas has professional training and performance experience in jazz, R&B, blues, gospel, salsa, and classical settings.  In addition, Thomas is the current music director at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Palm Bay, and has been working as a member of the Pride of Mel-Hi Marching Band staff since 2021.

In his teaching experience, Thomas has taught at the individual level, directed small ensembles as well as larger groups like jazz big bands, and aided in the direction of marching bands of over 100 students.  His private piano students have ranged in age from 7 to 87, with some having college and professional piano experience, some who played as a hobby but wanted to learn more about styles like jazz, and some who were just beginning their musical journeys.  Thomas will always aim to gear his students towards achieving their fullest potential, and their musicianship growth will come in tandem with enjoyment.  Thomas sees music as a very life-enriching activity for all; he has a strong dedication and deeply rooted passion for education and will take great pride and joy in guiding each and every one of his students along their development.
