Mariana Aguilera is a Venezuelan violinist. She received training at the top violin school of her country, Academia Latinoamericana de Violin. She belonged to two of the Caracas Symphony Orchestras before coming to the United States to earn a Master’s degree in Violin Performance from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. She has participated in numerous Orchestra Festivals throughout the United States and Venezuela, some of which she has also participated as a soloist.
For the last ten years, she has emphasized her focus in teaching and has received training both in traditional and in the famous Suzuki method for which she is certified by the Suzuki Association of the Americas up to level four. In 2009 she participated in the Symposium of Advance Violin Studies held in Julliard, NYC for teachers worldwide.
Mariana received intensive coaches from an Alexander Technique Teacher in 2001 to 2002, when she restructured her own technique in order to find more naturalness in playing, performing and connection with the body and soul, naturally…
She believes music is a wonderful way to foster ability and discipline in anyone, especially in children. Music and arts in general make people more sensible and better human beings.
